I bought this frameset already repainted in Molteni Orange from a collector who was planning to build it as a Colnago Merckx Molteni replica. I took over the project and added the decals and the Nuovo Record bottom bracket. The frameset was originally from a Super Pantografata bike, that's why it has the rare combination of chromed lugs, dropout faces and fork tips.
The decals are not the typical Merckx Molteni decals. These are faithful reproductions of the versions used by Colnago. The yellow and pink bands say Produzione Colnago, and the photo of Eddy has a posterized look. Click here to see a Colnago brochure of the original decals.
The frameset is in beautiful condition - the paint is flawless and the chrome is perfect (which is amazing considering its age). It is ready to be built as a complete bike.
The price of the frameset as shown, including the Nuovo Record bottom bracket, is $2,300 ($2,225 without the bottom bracket). I can install a Nuovo Record headset for an additonal $100.
